What we did?

1. Using ChatGPT, we wrote origin stories for our robots. A condensed version: Abandoned as scrap, I embraced the wild. Planting seeds in my head, nature intertwined with my circuits. I became a walking garden, a fusion of technology and life. Animals accepted me, and I protected their home. News of the living garden spread, and enthusiasts restored me. Now, I wander as Fola, a testament to resilience. A forgotten robot reborn in nature’s embrace, proving that discarded beings can bloom anew.
2. We experimented with Text to Speech technology
3. Using FlagsBlock coding, we made the Robot neck move
4. We discussed the process of inserting search engine requests in the URL to save time, then applied the same to our robot, using its IP address. There was lots of fooling around with other people’s robot heads, as the IPs were public
5. Using App Inventor, we began creating an app that was a simplified version of the URL method.

Challenges and reflections

1. There were many problems with the servo motors, several had to be replaced
2. I had translation issues, as I couldn’t read the coding blocks well and had to rely on google translate. this also led to more stress, as the lesson pace was quite fast. Sometimes, I had to just copy the blocks off the screen.
